Who we are

Belfast Bible College is a vibrant and diverse non-denominational Christian training college situated between the cities of Belfast and Lisburn, with almost 200 full-time students from the UK, Ireland and further afield.

Our Purpose

Belfast Bible College is called to be a welcoming community in which God works to form his people by integrating spiritual, academic and practical education rooted in his Word, for growth in Christian life and service, locally and around the World.

Course Information

Our desire is to help students realise their vision, by tailoring courses to suit their individual needs. Whether you feel a calling to cross-cultural ministry, youth ministry, or simply more effective ministry where you are, we’re committed to working with you to find a pathway that will ensure you are prepared.

We currently have two study ‘tracks’ available:

The Certificate/Diploma Track

This track offers students the opportunity to blend biblical and theological education for ministry with a more practical focus – for those who want to learn more in order to do more.

Three Month Certificate (3 months)

A short course ideally suited to those taking a gap year, or who are home for a short time from overseas. Students take three modules, and the course can be started in either September or February.

One Year Certificate (1 year)

Ideal for those who only have a limited time to commit to full-time study. Biblical modules can be combined with practical training in mission, pastoral care, youth or children’s ministry.

Diploma in the Bible and the Church's Mission (2 years)

A preparatory course for Christian service at home or overseas. It is ideally suited for those interested in cross cultural mission, or some form of ministry at home, including church work, youth or children’s ministry.

Postgraduate Diploma (1 year)

This course is specifically designed for those who already have an undergraduate degree, and would like a course of study more specifically tailored to their area of ministry interest. The course is partly taught and partly research based.

The Degree Track

This track offers students the opportunity to earn a qualification from Queen’s University, Belfast as they think deeply about biblical and theological truths that will shape their future life and ministry:

BD (Bachelor of Divinity - awarded by QUB) – 3 years
BTh (Bachelor of Theology - awarded by QUB) – 3 years
MTh (Master of Theology - awarded by QUB) – 1 year

The MTh programme is available for those who already have an undergraduate degree in Theology. For those who have a degree in another discipline, it is possible to complete an extra year of study to allow progression onto the MTh programme.

PhD courses are also available in several areas of specialism. All courses within this track can be taken on a part-time basis.

New university accredited courses available from September 2010 – please contact us for more details.
